Rod of Ages has been removed from the game, archangel is trash, ryze has been nerfed many times thanks to pro play, the only legendary mana item in the game is the frozen heart. What do you mean? If you average 8-8.5 by 30min you should have 3 items + boots + a component. Also keeping track of where you can actually get solo xp and farm. If your bot lane doesn’t ask and just shows up mid, you should swap immediately to the free lane. The goal is to scale and become a threat.

Ryze used to be a durable battlemage with short range. They've taken out the durability and replaced it with extra damage. However, the kit is structured as though defensive tools were present. The range is still low, and Ryze's cast times are still intact.Now for the new items: Lichbane (Azir, ekko, twisted fate and sometimes on viktor). Rylai's is unchanged. from personal experience a hard aspect of ryze is mobility. also because he a pretty team oriented champ. not a lot of people are gonna play around you're ult and you're easy to get caught out and killed. plus the cast times for some of the abilities like the root it makes stacking his passive and escaping difficult. you cant gain a lead on ...Don't go hogwild on the spells because you will OoM yourself.
